15 thousand tons of waste per day will illuminate Istanbul. The Waste Incineration and Energy Generation Facility to be established in Kemerburgaz will meet the energy needs of 1.5 million Istanbul population.
A garbage incinerator, which will enter the top 10 in the world, is being established in Istanbul. When the Waste Incineration and Energy Production Facility, which will be tendered this year, becomes operational, the electricity needs of 15 million Istanbul population, which produces 1.5 thousand tons of garbage per day, will be met. The architecture of the facility to be established in Kemerburgaz belongs to Mete Arat, who is the architect of many projects such as the German Mercedes factory and Türk Telekom Arena Stadium. The capacity of the Waste Incineration and Energy Production Facility will be 3.000 tons/day. With this project, in addition to waste disposal, electrical energy with a capacity of 70 MWh will be produced at the facility.
