Nevşehir University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Physics Department Lecturer Prof. Dr. Selçuk Kervan said that hydrogen, an endless source of energy that can be obtained from water, can save our country from its dependence on oil and natural gas. Kervan noted that it is possible to achieve this by intensifying research on hydrogen.
Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics Prof. Dr. A Hydrogen Energy conference was held in Nevşehir within the scope of the Leonardo da Vinci Innovation Transfer Project titled "Increasing Hydrogen Energy Awareness Across the European Union" and supported by the Ministry of European Union Education and Youth Programs Center Presidency, carried out by Selçuk Kervan.
As a speaker at the conference, Melikşah University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmut D. Mat, retired from Missouri University of Science and Technology and working at the company "DNV KEMA Energy and Sustainability", Prof. Dr. John Sheffield, University of Aveiro Prof. Dr. Fernando Marques, Prof. from 19 Mayıs University. Dr. Ömer Andaç from Abdullah Gül University, Assist. Assoc. Dr. Murat Çıtır and from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, General Directorate of Renewable Energy, Dr. Fazil Kaytez took place. Students, academics, researchers and businessmen who are interested in hydrogen energy also attended the conference as listeners.
prof. Dr. After Selçuk Kervan's opening speech, the speakers made presentations to the participants about general information about hydrogen energy, fuel cells, hydrogen production, hydrogen storage and new technologies in hydrogen energy in Turkey.
Nevşehir University Faculty of Arts and Sciences Physics Department lecturer Prof. Dr. Selçuk Kervan noted that the purpose of the conference was to draw attention to hydrogen energy, which is not as unknown as fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas, and is one of the alternative energy sources of the future.
Stating that the reserves of fossil fuels are decreasing and the carbon dioxide emission causes global warming, Kervan stated that when hydrogen is converted into energy, it does not pollute the environment and only water or water vapor is released. prof. Dr. Selçuk Kervan said that hydrogen, which is an endless source of energy that can be obtained from water, can save our country from oil and natural gas dependence and that research in this area should be increased.
