Biofuel will be produced from the wastes generated during the tea production process. A joint project agreement was signed between Recep Tayyip Erdogan University (RTU) and Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental Safety and Energy Technologies. Within the scope of the project, biofuel will be produced from the wastes generated during the tea production process.
In the written statement made by the university, it was stated that the 'Experimental Investigation of Biomass Wastes and Biochar Production with a Continuous System' project, which was initiated under the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Energy Systems Engineering, was accepted within the scope of European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST).
Emphasizing that a protocol was signed between the two institutions for the construction of the project, the following statements were included: "Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Faculty of Engineering Faculty Members Prof. Dr. Zuhal Oktay Coşkun, Assist. Assoc. Dr. Gokcen Akgul, Assist. Assoc. Dr. Can Coşkun and Assoc. Dr. There is Ayten Ateş. From the Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental Safety and Energy Technologies, Director of the European Bioenergy Research Institute Prof. Dr. Andreas Hornung and his team will take part in the project. The duration of the project, which has a total budget of 2 thousand lira, was determined as 270 months.
In the statement, it was stated that with the realization of the project, biofuel will be produced from the wastes generated during the tea production process and experimental research of organic fertilizer production will be carried out, and that the design of the device to be used in biofuel and organic fertilizer production, which will be manufactured at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, will be carried out by the project team.
